Latest updates in Work Visa and Working Holiday Visa categories in Australia

Recently, the Australia Government has announced significant changes to the Work Visa and Working Holiday Visa holders (Subclasses 417 & 462) who desire to work and travel in Australia. These latest changes offer Work Visa and Working Holiday Visa holders to stay in the country for a lengthy period and work in different areas.

Prior, the Working Holiday Visa holders (Subclasses 417 & 462) can remain in Australia only for a period of two years. But from mid-2019, they will be entitled to stay for a year once they finish six months with their specified regional work in their second year in Australia. 

 The Changes for Working Holiday Visa( Subclass 417) holders:


From 5th November 2018, it is declared that the period on which the Working Holiday Visa holders can stay from 6 to 12 months and continue with the same agricultural (plant and animal cultivation) companies. At the same time, the age requirements.

The Changes for Work Visa( Subclass 462) holders:


Earlier, Work Visa( Subclass 462) holders were restricted to work in Agriculture (Plant and animal cultivation). From 5th November 2018, it is declared that the Subclass 462-visa holders are now permitted to work in regional areas of New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria and Queensland, Tasmania and South Australia. Even the period on which the Work Visa holders can stay from 6 to 12 months and continue with the same agricultural (plant and animal cultivation). For some countries, the yearly cover on the number of 462 visas,  which may be recognized can be increased.
