Interested in Skilled Independent Visa - See Why There Is A Drop In The Skilled Occupation List

Australia is one of the prominent destinations for foreign-skilled immigrants who desire to apply for permanent residency in the country. The country grants about 190,000 Australia PR visa applications every year wherein 70% are kept for skilled immigrants only. However, it is observed that there is a drop in receiving the Skilled Independent Visa applications for few in-demand occupations in Australia under the Skilled Occupation List.

In terms of the Skilled Independent Visa (Sub class 189) category, the potential immigrants need to select a job from the associated Skilled Occupation List based on the type of visa they apply for. Hence, to apply for a Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189), the applicants need to file EOI and must qualify the points-based immigration system of Australia. Once they get qualified, the DHA then grants an invite to apply for Australia PR visa. Moreover, this PR visa consists of about 44,000 regions kept in Australia’s immigration planning. But there is a huge demand for some jobs such as accountants and IT-software professionals majorly when compared to other occupations in the last financial year.

Out of total 73 occupations under the Skilled Occupation List, about six occupations did not receive applications for issuing Skilled Independent Visa.

About 9,603 visa regions accounted for Electrical distribution workers, boat builders and shipwrights, wall and floor tilers, automotive electricians, precision metal trade workers and livestock farmers in Australia. On the other hand, 5,300 visa regions constituted for glaziers, panel beaters and barristers, cabinet makers, sheet metal trade workers, and other health diagnostic and promotion professionals. But these visa regions received only a single invite for each of the six occupations.

Also, the Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) applicants must possess comparatively advanced levels of English expertise, work experience, and education. Hence, they are looking for obtaining sponsored visa as it would add extra points to their visa requirements, get qualified effortlessly and select the occupations from the list.
